Archdiocese Birmingham Rosary on the Coast Locations

With the full support of His Grace the Archbishop of Birmingham, Bernard Longley, the following churches will be joining in with the Rosary on the Coast initiative taking place on 29th April around Britain. All events start at 3.00 p.m. unless otherwise stated.

There will be two groups actually travelling to the coast from within the Archdiocese and so they are included in this list.

Everyone is welcome to join any of these events.

Banbury
St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 25 South Bar Street. OX16 9AF.
“Polish prayer group from Banbury in St. John Catholic Church. Before Polish Mass  We will say the rosary at 2:30pm led by  Polish Parish Community – (Miłosierdzia Bożego - Banbury, Leamington Spa, Rugby.)”

Birkenhead, (New Brighton, The Wirral)
Shrine Church of St Peter, Paul and Philomena, Atherton St, New Brighton, CH45 9LT
A small group will be travelling from the West Midlands to the Shrine Church for Mass at 10.30 a.m. in the Traditional Rite, and then rejoining for the Rosary in the afternoon.
“Canon Montjean is leading the Rosary on the Coast from the Shrine Church of St Peter, Paul and Philomena. The Bishop of Shrewsbury, Rev Mark Davies will also be joining us for the Rosary.”

Birmingham
Sacred Heart and Holy Souls Catholic Church, Warwick Road, Acocks Green, B27 6RG
“The meeting will be held at: St. Joseph's House, 1157 Warwick Road, Acocks Green, Birmingham, B27 6RG.”

Brownhills

“The Rosary will be said in church at noon.”

Cheadle
St Giles Catholic Church
“Although we could hardly be further away from the coast, a small group of parishioners will be gathering in church at 3 o'clock on Sunday to show solidarity with this prayer initiative.”

Coventry

St. Stanisław Kostka RC Polish Parish, Springfield Rd, Coventry. CV1 4GR.
“Will say the rosary at 15.00.”

Dorchester-on-Thames
St. Birinus Catholic Church, Bridge End, Oxfordshire, OX10 7JR
“Please gather in the Presbytery Garden at 2.45pm on Sunday 29th April. Rosary will be said starting at 3pm, close to the banks of the River Thame which runs through the garden and is said to be the site of the baptism of the Saxon king Cynegils by St Birinus. Local authority parking is available by the bridge. Please respect our neighbours by not parking outside their houses or on the grass verges. Thank you. Please bring an umbrella if rain is threatened, as we would like to hold this event outdoors by the water, if at all possible.”

Leamington Spa
St Peters R C Church, 3A Dormer Pl, CV32 5AA.
“Led by Fr John Cross. We are the Victorian Church with huge tower situated on Dormer Place opposite the Pump Room Gardens. All welcome. Exposition during the Rosary and Benediction to finish. Confession available from 2-3 pm and afterwards from 3-4pm

Oxford
St Aloysius Catholic Church, 25 Woodstock Rd, OX2 6HA
“Led by Father Daniel & Archbishop Bernard Longley. Oxford is about as far from the coast as one can be in these islands. However, as many people won't be able to travel to the seaside on 29th April, we shall pray the rosary in our church at 3pm on that day in union with all those who take part in this prayer for faith, life and peace in the British Isles. The preparatory prayers will begin at 2.45pm.”

Walsall
St. Mary's the Mount RC Church, Glebe St., WS1
“The Church will be opened by 2.45pm on Sunday 29th April, and we are happy that whoever wants to join with us to pray for evangelisation of our country.”

Weston-super-Mare
Corpus Christi Church, 14 Elleneborough Park South.
“A group from St Mary & St John Catholic Church, Wolverhampton together with their Parish Priest Father Paweł Bielak will be travelling to Weston-Super-Mare for the 10.30 a.m. Mass which will be concelebrated with local Parish Priest Father Kevin Hennessey. 
The Rosary will be led by Fr Kevin Hennessey at 3.00 p.m.  The Church is in the road adjacent to the Sea Aquarium on the Beach (South) and near The Tropicana.  All are welcome to join for the Mass for the Rosary which will take place near the Aqaurium.”

Wolverhampton
Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Catholic Church, Cannock Road, Wolverhampton, WV10 8PG
“Rosary will be held by Fr Stephen Goodman. The church will be open from 2.45pm for the Rosary to begin at 3pm.”
