LIFE - Congatulations to new Conservative Party Vice-Chair
Life congratulates Maria Caulfield, MP on her election as Vice-Chair of the Conservative Party and wishes to call on the abortion lobby to desist from the vile and intemperate attacks on her that we have seen in the last 24 hours.
Life Director of Education Anne Scanlan said “Our charity supports thousands of women who are vulnerable and facing many challenges. We are therefore very happy that the Conservative Party has chosen a woman who, because of her background from a council estate and experience as a nurse, can fully understand and identify with the dilemmas many women face today. We know that Ms Caulfield is both pro-woman and prolife and we are confident that she will help her party deal effectively with many of the issues and pressures women face.
Whilst we are happy at Ms Caulfield’s appointment, we are very concerned at yet another campaign of harassment and intimidation by the abortion industry and their allies. The fact that Ms Caulfield has been subjected to attacks and abuse in the media over the last 24 hours because she is prolife should be of concern to all. It has become habitual now for the abortion industry to rise up and shout down anyone who dares to speak up for the unborn, even if such persons also speak up for women. In fact the multi-million pound recipient of taxpayers’ money for abortion, BPAS, leads the pack attacking Ms Caulfield by lamenting that she describes herself as a ‘voice for the unborn’. We say good on Ms Caulfield for having the courage to stand up for what she believes in.
It cannot continue to be the case that anyone who does not support the abortion industry’s mad drive to increase the over £100M they currently receive to supply abortions every year, are subjected to vile attacks and intimidation. We encourage more MPs to have the courage to stand up and to refuse to be intimidated by this rabble rousing mob of money hungry abortion providers and their allies, intent only on profiting off of the plight of women.”
