The celebration of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Birmingham Oratory on 15th August was a wonderful event.

At the end of Holy Mass, there was a procession out into the street and back in to the Cloister to the statue of Our Lady.

Here, the Provost, Father Ignatius Harrison consecrated the Parish to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

This event was able to be celebrated on the normal day because it was in the Tridentine Rite and thus in accordance with the Missal of 1962.

The homilist at the Holy Mass was Bishop Byrne, Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham.
