The Birmingham Polish Choir "Polonez" were made very welcome when they joined in the Mass at Holy Trinity RC Church, Wolverhampton for the first time recently.
Choir Director Ryszard Weber explained, "The choir's visit to Wolverhampton was very well received by the congregation at Mass which was followed by a short concert and then a very welcoming reception in the main hall for which the choir members were most grateful."
"The choir sings at Polish Masses and National days, however recently it has been invited to perform at external events such as the recent concert in Wolverhampton Polish Community , the forthcoming concerts in Harbourne Retirement Village and the German Christmas Market {in Birmingham}."
“The Polish Parish Choir Polonez is the continuation of Polish choral tradition in Birmingham which began in the 1950s, first a male voice choir then a female voice choir then both amalgamated into one mixed voice choir. This was followed by the Family Choir and finally by the present choir Polonez..
Parish Priest Father Kamil Stawiski , "The singing during Mass showed the choir the mystery of liturgy and meaning of the Eucharist."
