Wolverhampton Church Guide Book launched
By Józef Łopuszyński
A book by the late Anthony Nicholls detailing the features of Sts Mary & John Catholic Church, Wolverhampton, has been launched at an official ceremony by his son Father Guy Nicholls.
Father Dawid Piskorz, Local Superior of the Pauline Community which looks after the church said, “I’m really pleased that this booklet is finally ready for both visitors and parishioners of Saint Mary’s and John’s Church to buy. It’s not so much a history book but is rather an attempt to take us round this magnificent church looking prayerfully at the various features of the architecture.”
“The author tries to give the answers why there are so many triangles in the church, why there are certain carvings at different parts of the church whose heads are carved over the confessional box, and so on.”
“This guide book I think will help people to walk prayerfully around this magnificent church, and Mr Anthony Nicholls did a really good work with this booklet, and I’m really pleased I can hold it in my hands today.”
