NEWMAN DAY OF PRAYER - Birmingham Oratory

The “Friends of Cardinal Newman” will be holding a  day of prayer for the canonisation of Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman on Saturday 11th October to which all are welcome.

The day will commence with Solemn Mass in the Oratory Church at 12 noon, led by Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham Robert Byrne Cong. Orat..

There will also be  Veneration of the Relic of Blesed John Henry Cardinal Newman.

At 2.00 p.m. there will be a presentation and talk in the Upper Cloister Hall entitled “Why should Newman be Canonised?”

The day will end with Pontifical Solemn Benediction in the Oratory church at 3.00 pm..

Lunch will be “Bring-and-share” in the cloister hall, but tea, coffee and soup will be provided

Any priests wishing to concelebrate are asked to please bring an alb and a white stole
